Another new toy at JP’s Magic Tech Playground

The newest member of the tech stuff family in our household is this shiny Canon EOS 40D.

Canon EOS 40D

Because the 40D is not a very significant upgrade from the Canon EOS 400D/Rebel XTi, most of my photography-savvy friends recommended going all the way to a [used] Canon EOS 5D. I’m really OK with the 40D so far.

Next items on my shopping list: lenses, lenses, lenses. :-) (Update: Got one. :D )

Yep, that’s the company notebook. Unfortunately I am required to run Windows for the current project :D

Good to see someone who isn’t buying into the “full frame” craze. :-) My photo budget is exhausted from giving myself the 70-200/4.0 L IS for christmas, but I’m holding out for an upgrade from the 350D to the 50D.

The price difference of 40D and 50D seemed to unrealistic from my point of view. I got the 40D at a very reasonable price and think it was the right decision not to pay the additional 500 Euros for the 50D.

That lens is very nice, Martin! That one is also on my wish list. :D And I am also thinking about getting a battery grip for the 40D, too. I already miss the vertical shutter button.
