Project 365: New Socks for the Bimmer!

When I bought the BMW 3 series (E91) in December last year, it was equipped with Bridgestone Turanza ER 300 run-flat tires (205/55 R16). Those were neither sporty nor comfortable, but instead felt as hard as a rock and were not fun when driving through lane grooves, even when I tried applying different tire pressure settings.

Today I received my new alloy rims and Dunlop SP Sport 01 A tires (225/45 R17). Although those are run-flat tires, too, and those tend to be a harder ride than “regular” tires, they feel much better. The car is a little harder to steer with the wider tires but it runs so much smoother now. I guess my back will thank me, Oh, and by the way: yes, I’m getting old. Preferring comfort over sportyness. 🙂
