BERLIN: ARM ABER SEXY
Sehr geehrter Herr Wenzel,
JEAN PIERRE WENZEL, M.SC.
Looks strange. Unfamiliar. Feels good. 😀
No more discounted cafeteria food. Regular “grown-up” movie theater ticket prices. At least I still get discounted flights for those “young-at-hearts” until I turn 30… that’s still a few months ’til then.
But… yes, you were indeed right, Hildi!
"LIVING THE LIFE OF A MISPLACED CHECK MARK."
My friend and former fellow colleague Sushi requested The Chugh Firm (on behalf of his contracting agency, Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (ESI)) to file his application for a H1-B visa.
Something went terribly wrong, but read for yourself (follow the previous link to read Sushi’s blog post). In short: the company misplaced a checkmark and he now had to switch careers due to the fact that he wasn’t able to get one of those H1B visa.
Unfortunately, it’s not clear who dropped the ball. They made a mistake which took significant effect but Sushi didn’t even get a simple “sorry”. What a shame.
UBUNTU 7.10 ON LENOVO/IBM THINKPAD R61
Just as a reminder for myself…
- Installing Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) on a ThinkPad T61
- Fedora 7 on a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad R61 (if I ever want to come back to Fedora Core again…)[
](http://www.hacksocke.de/2007/07/11/fedora-7-on-a-ibm-lenovo-thinkpad-r61/)
Of course, the new company laptop came with a Windows installation, but setting up Ubuntu was far more straight forward than when I tried Fedora Core on a Toshiba Satellite M30 years ago. Although the installation instructions linked above cover the T61, most of them also work for the Lenovo Thinkpad R61.
